An Evening with... Ralph Heimans and The Queen

Community & Culture

Ralph Heimans is one of the leading portrait artists in the world today.

Ralph speaks passionately about how he gets to know his subject, often in a limited period of time, and how he looks for the expressions, the contemplative moment and the flash of emotion that enables him to capture the subject so exquisitely.

Ralph Heimansโ€™ portrait of Her Majesty the Queen depicts his subject in extraordinarily, beautiful detail. The 11 foot tall painting, commissioned for Her Majestyโ€™s Diamond Jubilee in 2012 hangs in the permanent collection in Westminster Abbey. Circle Sq. members are invited to meet Ralph, join him to view the portrait where it hangs in Westminster Abbey and then hear him speak about his life and his work in private home nearby. We promise a very special evening. Spaces are limited. Book Today

The list of Ralph Heimansโ€™s subjects is as awe inspiring as list of the galleries in which his portraits hang. Royalty is a major theme. As well as Her Majesty the Queen, he has painted portratits of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, HRH The Prince of Wales, Crown Prince Frederik and Queen Mary of Denmark. Celebrity works include Dame Judy Dench, Ben Kingsley, Vladimir Askenazy, and authors Howard Jacobson, Margaret Atwood and Anne Tyler.

Join Circle Sq on 14th January for this exclusive opportunity to share An Evening Withโ€ฆ Ralph Heimans. Please note start time for the event.

We will meet at Westminster Abbey, ready to go inside at 17:45. After the viewing, the group will move to a beautiful private home 3 minutesโ€™ walk from the Abbey for a conversation with Ralph over a light supper.
