Echoes Across the Ocean: The Anglophone Press of 19th-Century Chile
The Embassy of Chile in the United Kingdom is delighted to invite you to a special cultural event celebrating the launch of the digital archive The 19th-Century Anglophone Press of Valparaíso, Chile.
Join us as we present the results of the EAP1527 project, funded by the British Library's Endangered Archives Programme, in collaboration with the National Library of Chile and the Center for American Studies at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.
Discover the rich history of Valparaíso’s English-language newspapers, which offer unique insights into the maritime, cultural, and diplomatic ties between Chile, the United Kingdom, and the world during the long 19th century.
Learn more about the preservation of these rare documents and their contribution to the shared heritage of Anglo-Chilean communities.
