Celebrating the Launch of Editorial Design (Third Edition) with a Panel Discussion on the Future of Fashion Journalism

Join us for an exciting panel discussion in celebration of the launch of the third edition of Editorial Design, an iconic book that continues to shape the world of fashion journalism and emerging editorial concepts. This event will feature a panel of young, emerging journalists highlighted in the new edition, who will share insights into their early careers since leaving Fashion Communication: Journalism at Central Saint Martins (CSM) as they talk about fashion, marketing, and branding.

The discussion will be moderated by Tamsin Blanchard, Pathway Leader for Fashion Journalism at CSM, and will explore what it’s like to start a career today in editorial design, communication and journalism. This is a unique opportunity to hear firsthand from industry professionals.

More about the Panellists:


  • Cath Caldwell is a design writer and former Design Director (UK Elle, Condé Nast US) with 20 years of experience in graphic design and art direction. She now mentors lecturers, designers, and alumni, and her accessible graphic design textbooks have been published globally in multiple languages.


  • Tamsin Blanchard is a journalist, author, and editor with extensive experience in both newspapers and magazines including the Independent, the Observer Magazine, the Telegraph Magazine, Tank and Hole & Corner. Her books include Fashion & Graphics and Green is the New Black. She continues to write for prominent publications including the Observer, The Times, 10 Magazine and The Gentlewoman.


  • Oswin Tickler is a designer and educator (MA Publishing and BA Magazine Journalism and Publishing at LCC), and is an associate lecturer on design courses across UAL and elsewhere. Much of his personal practice concerned with experimental publishing including exploration of creative coding within print environments, which has been formalised by HP Indigo as the HP Spark software.
