Explore Air Pollution Levels in your Local Park and Playground with Experts and Discuss Solutions

Health & Wellness

Please register in advance.

Many of London’s parks and gardens are renowned worldwide and often praised as London’s green lungs where residents and visitors alike can seek refuge from high levels of pollution. Parks, gardens, squares and playgrounds are used by old and young to play, exercise, or simply enjoy the outdoors.

Imperial College and University of Leicester researchers recently found that more than a quarter of a million children in London inhale nitrogen dioxide concentrations above the EU guideline value when playing at their local playground.

Join us for an event where we will explore these findings.
We will introduce an online platform that lets you explore air pollution levels in your local park and playground.

We will also explore among others:

  • How exposed are we while exercising outdoors?
  • Whether we should exercise in parks if pollution is high?
  • What can each of us do to help in reducing harmful levels of air pollution?

Come and discuss these issues with researchers from Imperial College London, the MRC Centre for Environment and Health, and the University of Leicester

This is event is part of a series of events on clean air organised by Imperial College London's Air Quality Network and the Centre for Health Economics and Policy Innovation. It is supported by Clean Air Parents’ Network, ClientEarth and received a generous contribution from the British Lung Foundation. It is open and targeted to a general audience, but you must register in advance.
