Workshops to help young people plan and run events in their local area.

Do you think events run for young people should involve young people in the planning of them? If so, read on!

Hyde Housing wants more young people to be involved in shaping ideas for activities and events being run in their area.

The aim is to build your confidence to think about developing and pitching an ideas on what you would like be involved in and go to.

These six weekly sessions aim to develop the skills you need to make that happen. During the sessions you will:

  • Hear from young people already running their own events
  • Have public speaking and confidence training
  • Develop your negotiation and influencing skills ο»Ώ
  • Learn the key essentials to running an event
  • Learn how you can give feedback in a way that you feel truly heard

Sessions are free to attend. Food will be provided and there will be a chance to win tickets to events (including spoken word shows, the theatre plays and gigs).

To take part, you must be:

  • 15 to 21 years old AND
  • a Hyde Housing resident OR
  • attending Active Communities Network (ACN) OR
  • attending Young People Matter (YPM).

The workshops will be held at Morley College, on Tuesday evenings (6 to 8PM):

  • 31st March
  • 7th April
  • 14th April
  • 21st April - BREAK
  • 28th April
  • 5th May
  • 12th May
