HACK::SOHO - Nov 2019 featuring Dani Martinez | Cybersecurity

Science & Technology

IOActive invites you to the October edition of HACK::SOHO, a monthly cybersecurity event at our central London office. Join fellow hackers, tech-heads, enthusiasts, and visionaries for food, cold beer, and hot cybersecurity talk.

Title:        Hacking Fingerprint Readers to Expose Bypass Techniques

   Thursday, November 21st

Speaker:  Dani Martinez, Security Consultant, and recently recognized "Rising Star" winner of the SC Media Reboot Leadership Awards, will be the featured speaker.

Fingerprint readers are a widespread means to protect our assets and secrets: mobile phones, server rooms, computers, padlocks, and many more devices include this authentication system. Clearly, the bad guys are working very hard to smash fingerprint readers; luckily, we are working very hard on making them more secure, too. During this talk, we will show biometric techniques to bypass fingerprint-based authentication that we use to help the industry improve the security of these devices.

Engage in the discussion, ask questions, learn new things, and network, all while enjoying drinks and music. The bars open at 18:00, the food arrives at 18:15 and the talk will start at 19:00. Don't be late! :-)
