Come down to Provost Community Hall to see the designs for the proposed redevelopment of 1 Vince Street. We want your feedback!
The redevelopment would be a commercial-led project and would erect a 14-storey, 3,838 sqm (GIA) office building of high quality as part of the setting of the Old Street roundabout. It will also provide 2,136 sqm of new commercial office floor space along with 95 sqm of flexible commercial space at street level. Greenery will also be provided at the fifth-floor shoulder level to increase biodiversity and habitat creation.
The site is located on the northeast corner of the Shoreditch triangle adjacent to the fire station on Old Street. The site also includes adjacent buildings at 229-233 Old Street. Currently, the site is comprised of single-storey units including a cocktail bar and takeaway food shops, all of which are in poor condition. The proposal herewith has been designed with consideration of mechanical and electrical services, fire safety and energy performance.
In addition, the proposed development will be double-fronted with active surveillance at the rear of the building to address some of the local anti-social behaviour.
