Join us for an insightful exploration of how Chinese entrepreneurs and business communities have evolved since China acceded to the WTO in 2001. Through compelling personal stories and community growth narratives, the talk will uncover how private entrepreneurs embraced global markets with boldness and ambition while navigating complex government relations, fierce international competition, and ever-changing regulationsand sanctions. This event offers a rare opportunity to understand the business philosophies that drive China’s dynamic private sector and gain a deeper look into a world that often remains unseenfrom outside China.

Speaker biography:

Li Li is a Visiting Senior Fellow at LSE’s Department of Government. She has 17 years of experience in international relations, government affairsand NGO management. Formerly Director of International Relations at the China Entrepreneur Club, she led global partnership initiatives for China’s top business leaders. She previously worked at the Global Network for Public Interest Law, advancing public interest law, Pro Bono and NGO developments. She began her career in key account sales at Kimberly-Clark, managing clients like Walmart.

Li has been awarded the prestigious Chevening Fellowship in the UK and the Hubert Humphrey Fellowship in the US. She studied at the University of Minnesota and Peking University.
