Event for youth and young adults of Jamaican heritage in the UK
Jamaican Youth Connect | Jamaican High Commission London | 6pm-9pm
In a synchronised movement, Canada, The United Kingdom and The United States are set for a post-conference youth link-up in each region on the same date.
3 countries on 3 October with 1 mission: engage, empower, organize and invest in the youth of Jamaican heritage, and mobilize them to connect and contribute to Jamaica’s development.
After the staging of the Jamaica Diaspora Conference in June this year, the vibrant energy and feedback that filled the room at the Global Youth Forum, reassured the Global Jamaica Diaspora Youth Group that connecting with young people in the diaspora is a necessity in Jamaica’s sustainable development. This event seeks to garner attention to the soon to be Global Jamaica Diaspora Youth Council and fill a knowledge, culture and experiential gap for young people of Jamaican heritage (parents/grand parents/great-grandparents) on how to connect, be involved and give back to Jamaica. We will also highlight the plethora of opportunities available to youth living in the UK.
