Knowledge Makes Change Seminar: Play and Child Development

Uncategorized

LEAP is excited to invite you to the launch of our Knowledge Makes Change seminar series.

Through these free events we aim to inspire local practitioners, and be informative about ‘what works’ for young children and their families to ensure the best possible outcomes.

The seminars will provide an opportunity to hear about key national research and practice developments from expert guest speakers, and find out about how LEAP is supporting local children and families.

Our first evening will focus on the importance of play in child development, featuring guest speaker Penny Tassoni MBE. Penny is a nationally recognised education consultant, author and trainer who specialises in the whole spectrum of learning and play. As President of PACEY (Professional Association of Childcare and Education) Penny is an expert in early education, and has written over 40 books on the subject.

Penny will be drawing on LEAP’s Big Little Moments campaign which showcases 15 important behaviours that make a huge difference to a child’s development.

Join us to hear about the latest thinking around these behaviours and top tips for supporting the children and families you work with. There will also be an opportunity to network with colleagues from across Lambeth’s services at a food and drinks reception at the beginning of the event.

This unmissable event is for everyone working with children and families in Lambeth.
