KUMEC Christmas Lecture: A GP from the South Pole

Family & Education

How delivering Primary Care for 13 months in Antarctica led me to a career as a GP

On Wednesday 11 December the Primary Care Christmas Lecture will be delivered by KUMEC in the Tower Lecture Theatre, Guy’s Campus.

This year, Dr Alex Kumar will share his insights of being a GP at the South pole during his 13-month expedition overwintering in Antarctica with the European Space Agency. Alex is a KCL alumnus and a current academic GP trainee who will give his insights into choosing GP as a career.

There will be registration and drinks from 17:45, and the lecture will run from 18:15 to 19:15, followed by a Christmas drinks reception.

This year’s session will be of particular interest to anyone considering intercalating in Primary Care: https://www.kcl.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/courses/primary-care-ibsc
