But who are they calling, and what do they do to help?
To mark our 50 year anniversary, Lewisham, Greenwich & Southwark Samaritans invites you to an exhibition of FIrst Duty by Phillip Job: a photographic study of listening as practised by our volunteers.
This is a chance to see the otherwise faceless voices on the end of the phone 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
We would love for you to join us from 7pm on Thursday 5th September at Out Of The Brew (306 New Cross Road, London, SE14 6AF). You will be able to visit the exhibition and meet some of our volunteers to learn more about what we do.
