London Open Evening

Uncategorized

A discussion on how Public Practice is changing public planning, and how to apply to join our programme for the next cohort in April 2020.

Public Practice is calling for experienced built environment practitioners and forward-thinking public organisations to join a growing movement that is rebuilding the public sector’s capacity for proactive planning.

To coincide with the call for applications to our next cohort, starting April 2020, this event is an opportunity for anyone interested in taking part in the programme to hear about how Public Practice is supporting change within public planning, and how to apply.

With exciting new roles coming forward across London, the South East and East of England, we are looking to recruit practitioners with a diverse range of skills, experiences and backgrounds.

You may be looking for a new career challenge, a temporary secondment, a part-time placement to combine with family or teaching, or to give something back towards the end of your career.

You may have expertise in planning, surveying, architecture, urban design, project management, infrastructure, landscape, sustainability, community engagement or historic environments, or, you may not fit into any one of those categories.

The Open Evening is also an opportunity for local authorities and other public organisations considering hosting a placement to ask any questions about the programme, discuss potential roles, and talk through how the recruitment process works.

This year, the London Open Evening will take place at 3space International House in Brixton, one of London's largest affordable workspaces. You’ll hear from current Associates and Authorities about what it’s like to take part in the programme, and the difference the placements are making on the ground. There will also be an opportunity to speak to the team over a drink.

The Open Evening will be held on the ground floor at 3space International House, a short walk from Brixton station. Presentations will start at 6.30pm, but feel free to arrive any time from 6pm. Please sign-up to book your place.

The deadline to join the next cohort or host a placement is Monday 25 November 2019.
