Making the Impossible Inevitable: Lessons from the Pandemic

Government & Politics

Caroline Lucas will discuss what this means for the politics of climate change and the long overdue shift to wellbeing economics.

The COVID-19 pandemic has shown that the scope and speed of the politically possible is far greater than we could ever have imagined.

In this special event, Caroline Lucas, will discuss what this means for the politics of climate change and the long overdue shift to wellbeing economics.

Caroline Lucas is the Green Party MP for Brighton Pavilion. She was elected as the UK's first Green Member of Parliament in 2010. Caroline is renowned across the UK for her action on the climate and natures emergencies, including introducing the Climate and Ecological Emergency Bill in Parliament and co-proposing the original Green New Deal, and will focus at this event on the shift to a wellbeing economy.

This event will be chaired by Lord David Chidgey, President of the Sustainability Forum, and who, amongst other achievements, sits as Vice-Chair in the House of Lords All-Party Parliamentary Group on the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development.
