By Simon P. Philbin, Interim Head of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Director of the Nathu Puri Institute for Engineering and Enterprise, and Professor of Engineering Management in the School of Engineering at London South Bank University

Description: "In this lecture, I will discuss my research career that started in chemistry and led to my research in the field of engineering management. I originally trained as a research chemist and carried out research in organic chemistry in areas such as the synthesis of nitrogen heterocyclic compounds. Several years later I changed my disciplinary focus from the physical sciences to engineering management and I have undertaken research in several related areas. This includes project management, innovation, entrepreneurship, sustainable engineering as well as renewable energy technologies. I will discuss my journey in research through describing some of the twists and turns so far as well as my thoughts on where the journey may lead in the future."
