Poppin’ East will offer us all a welcome dose of creative escapism - an experience that will stretch people's perspectives and enable them to once again enjoy immersing themselves in art and creativity.”

Poppin’ East in Dalson is the second pop-up show curated by London-based pop/surreal artist Zoe Moss and will again feature the revered pop artist Patrick Hughes. Six British contemporary artists are exhibiting work in a pop-up show that will bend visitors’ minds this September. Not Now Nancy; Inkteraktiv (aka Caro Clarke); Ian Robinson; Callum Simmons (aka Casa); Zoe Moss; and Patrick Hughes.

Visitors can see a range of illusory and thought-provoking works exploring themes from politics to ancient mythology and approaches that celebrate colour and sound.

Hughes’ works will include his rainbows and 3-D reverspective paintings featuring famous scenes that appear to move as you walk around them, and which have been featured in many public collections over the last 25 years.

Moss, who began her career as a photorealist artist, will be exhibiting her latest work, using surreal satire and trompe l'oeil techniques to create an alternative reality whereby the artworks themselves feature on the walls of famous galleries. Zoe will also be showcasing new sculptures that play with the effects of social media.

Not Now Nancy’s work embodies forgotten themes from mythology, folk law and history books; combining elements from antique illustrations and modern symbolic imagery to create an illusion of fantasy that can not only alter at every glance but is subjective to the viewer.

Urban paper artist Inkteraktiv, also known as Caro Clarke, will show pieces taking inspiration from the urban landscape and her own travels as well as her love for neon lighting, typography, architecture and geometrical patterns.

Ian Robinson will take visitors on a journey back to the 90’s with his incredible realistic paintings of music collections and exploration of sampling technology and the techniques of the artists that pioneered the cutting and looping of sound.

And Callum Simmons, known as Casa, who came to fame in 2016 and 2017 with his politically driven poster prints featuring a suicidal Donald Trump and bullshitting Boris Johnson, will show new works that reflect his obsession with colour and shifting perspectives.
