HOT:SECOND is a world first circular economy concept store trading physical products for digital experiences.

 Open at Protein Studios in Shoreditch from Tuesday 19th –Thursday 21st November, founder Karinna Nobbs in collaboration with innovation studio Holition and 3D artist Emily Switzer will allow visitors to immersively experience digital fashion garments from pioneering brands including The Fabricant, Carlings/VIRTUE and Christopher Raeburn.

The aim of this event is to help unpick some of the big issues that we are currently surrounded by - specifically the climate crisis, inclusivity and what we put on and in our bodies are on our radar for this session. We are very lucky to have Emma Firth Features Editor from BURO London to moderate this panel and here are the bios of our esteemed guests:

Bel Jacobs is fashion and arts journalist known for her cutting edge content with a focus on ethical and sustainable alternatives to mainstream fashion. Currently part of Extinction Rebellion where she helped coordinate the Extinction Rebellion Boycott Fashion, a campaign encouraging people to stop buying new fashion for a year and mobilised the funeral march during London Fashion Week.

Lou Northcote is an activist and creator of #freethepimple. As a sufferer of Acne, Lou lost her career as a model because of her skin. She began the movement to find other people like her and change the stigma, change the media. Lou has featured in i-D, Elle, Teen Vogue, Dazed Beauty, Refinery29 and more. 

Arooj Aftab is a Menswear blogger and influencer - in 2017 year she was a part of the BBC Newsbeat doc 'My Tumour Made Me Trendy' which raised awareness for NF. In the same year, she was also nominated in the Cosmopolitan UK Influencer Awards. In October Arooj won 'Best Blog' at the 'Asian Media Awards' and is recognised in the industry as a spokesperson for body positivity.

Delphine Chui is a London-based journalist who is passionate about topics as how we can all live more zero-waste to the latest travel trends. As a co-founder and editor of FTOXINS she is focusing on a natural and organic lifestyle. 

N.B. Due to space constraints there are only 20 seats for this workshop and if you are unable to get a space we will be live streaming the panel via one of Protein's social channels - link to follow.

Running order

From 6-9pm artist Frankie Knoller will be doing live custom drawings for FREE on garments that you bring!  [canvas tote bags, light denim and cotton t-shirts and sweats will work best]

8.30 Participants are encouraged to mingle and explore the store
