ABOUT THE EXHIBITION

‘Towers - First Movement’ will present photography, film and multi-media works by London-based artist Ra.

Part of an ongoing series, these moving works explore the tension between urban landscapes and the bodies that inhabit them. The push and pull between flesh and concrete, elevation and repression, stories and stones.

Ra captures the rich textures and rhythmic forms of the city through various artistic techniques, emphasising the literal and figurative contradictions pervasive in urban scenes through shafts of light cutting through the darkness.

The limbs and bodies in his works contract, struggle, reach and expand in the built environment. Mirroring our universal search for freedom and meaning amidst towers of stone and steel.
