London-based artist, fashion designer, and mental health activist Sarah Hollebon raises awareness of social issues through the medium of fashion to open-up conversations safely on topics such as mental health, trauma, and sexual violence. Sarah’s work has been exhibited in galleries, schools, and workplaces on a national level, including Espacio Gallery, Pop Brixton, and law firm Clyde & Co.
This summer, GreatArt will be hosting Sarah Hollebon’s solo exhibition in Shoreditch, London, ‘Woven Experiences’ which will run from Tuesday, 5 July until Saturday, 30 July.
The exhibition will include an exclusive first showing of pieces from her new collection "Life After Trauma", plus key garments from previous collections. Also on display will be exclusive interviews Sarah conducts with people who have a lived experience of a social issue, which play a crucial part when Sarah designs each garment for the collections.
Curated by Katie-Marie Ford, an independent art curator, writer and holistic coach, the exhibition will also feature art by self-taught hand illustrator Connor Lawson, hand embroiderer Beth Cole (who has worked for various fashion houses including Alexander McQueen and Ralph and Russo), textile artist Rebecca Bruton, and London College of Fashion graduate footwear designer Cecília Glória, who is working closely with Sarah to help continue important conversations on social topics.
You are cordially invited to the opening reception where you will get a first glimpse of the exhibition and meet Sarah. Refreshments will also be available.
Note: Please RSVP your attendance to the opening reception by booking your free ticket here - please book separate tickets for any "plus ones".
