A discussion of the new Government's proposals for sentencing reform with Professor Nicola Padfield, Professor Mike Hough and Mr Umar Azmeh
The Sentencing Academy introduces itself to UCL by hosting a discussion of the key aspects of sentencing reform proposed by the new Government, including a manifesto commitment to 'introduce tougher sentencing for the worst offenders and end automatic halfway release from prison for serious crimes' and a renewed focus on sentencing in terrorism cases. Professor Nicola Padfield, Professor Mike Hough and Mr Umar Azmeh discuss recent proposals and future directions. There will be three brief presentations followed by general discussion.
There will be a drinks reception for attendees afterwards.
