TOPICS COVERED INCLUDE:
• Understanding why we speak and the art of good communication.
• Mindset and re-framing our anxieties – with over 70% of us anxious about public speaking, we need to get inside our own heads to examine what holds us back and look at techniques to overcome our limiting beliefs.
• Focusing on our audience’s needs
• Compelling storytelling for success – Structuring our presentations as stories brings an audience into our world and enables us to better communicate our message. We will look at structure and language that helps us achieve that.
• Analysing well-known speeches and speakers. What can we learn from the experts?
• Delivery – What happens when we are presenting? We look at body language, pace, rhythm, eye contact.
• Using humour to connect.
• Use of slides and props, adding ‘flavour’.
Everyone will get the chance to present and get feedback on all aspects of their work.
