The accounting career path is broken

Business & Professional

Over 50% of accountants say they are unhappy in their current role. The figure is even higher for those under 30. Let's talk about why.

What's it all about?

One generation ago, accounting was a prestigious and well paid job for life.

Today, it ranks amongst the lowest for job satisfaction.

The traditional career paths in the industry just aren't working any more. Most accountants train in the Big 4 and work with large corporates. They don't get access to skills that startups and small businesses need.

Our generation wants training in skills for the future, not the past.

Ultimately we want a career with impact, flexibility and meaning.

Join us on 3rd March at the Carwow offices near Victoria, London to hear from three speakers who may have found the answer.

Who should attend?

  1. Qualified accountants and finance professionals wondering what next
  2. Startup pros keen to network and learn new things
  3. Anyone interested in the move from corporate to startup

What can I expect?

We'll be hearing three brief talks from:

Jonathan Roomer

Co-founder and sales lead at yulife ("life insurance that inspires"), via KPMG, multiple startup projects and professional experience as a "demotivational speaker" .

Corinne Thompson

Chief of Staff at Callsign ("real time driven AI authentication"), via GoCardless, KPMG and running her own recruitment agency.

Iona McNeil

Finance Business Partner at Quantico, who also runs Shh Dating, conscious dance events, and enough side hustles to fill more than ten normal careers, via Lantum, EY and many startups along the way.

Finger food, alcoholic and soft drinks will be available!

NB: Unfortunately due to the security policy at the venue we are not able to admit anyone who has not previously registered via Eventbrite.
