The Global Nuclear Order: On the Precipice of Peril?

Please join us for an interactive discussion on major nuclear challenges, including the demise of U.S.-Russia arms control and rising nuclear risks. This comes with the 50th Anniversary of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) as it approaches the 2020 Review Conference, amidst pressure for greater progress towards disarmament and tense geopolitics. So what’s next for the global nuclear order? How can policymakers and academics alike tackle these issues? How must we approach the next 50 years of the NPT? The event will present cutting-edge research by King's College London and other nuclear thought leaders, and includes an interactive format to encourage wider participation.

Confirmed speakers:

Dr Heather Williams, Lecture at the Centre for Science & Security Studies, King's College London

Shata Shetty, Director of the European Leadership Network

Marion Messmer, Co-Director of BASIC

Chair:

Prof Wyn Bowen, Head of the School of Security Studies

This event will be followed by a reception.
