As we emerge further out of lockdown, we are delighted to invite UK Friends of the Anglican Centre in Rome for a tour and tea in London’s oldest church. The Priory Church of St Bartholomew the Great, Smithfield, London, was built when Henry I, son of William the Conqueror, was King of England. Its exceptional Romanesque architecture is highly renowned, and the current Rector is Marcus Walker, former Associate Director of the Anglican Centre. On Monday 5th July between 4.00-600pm, Marcus will offer a private tour of the Church, and we will then be able to enjoy tea and cakes together in the Cloister. There will be an update on what’s going on at the Anglican Centre in Rome, and on the dialogue between the Anglican Communion and the Catholic Church, towards the end of the afternoon.
