19 Mar London : Nathan Piper - Amerisur Resources Plc - Growing an E&P Business in Colombia

Business & Professional

Title

"Growing an E&P Business in Colombia"

Synopsis

Colombia has produced oil for over 100 years. Production from the country appeared to be in terminal decline until major fiscal/regulatory changes through 2003-2008 that encouraged foreign investment leading to a doubling of production to over 1 mb/d. Established infrastructure and low cost onshore oil make it an attractive area to grow an E&P business.  Our speaker Nathan Piper has covered the space for over 10 years as an Equity Analyst and latterly as Head of BD at Amerisur.

Speaker

Nathan Piper is Head of Business Development at Amerisur Resources Plc, a Colombian focused E&P with assets in the Llanos and Putumayo Basins. He has over 20 years financial and commercial experience in the Oil and Gas sector.

Prior to joining Amerisur he was a #1 rated oil equity analyst (Extel Survey) at RBC Capital Markets where he became a Managing Director covering UK and TSX listed International E&P companies, including over 10 years focused on Colombia.

Nathan is a Fellow of the Geological Society, Director and Past President (2015-2017) of the Scottish Oil Club. He holds a Masters in Petroleum Geology (University of London).
