50 Living Wage Funders: A Milestone Celebration

Charity & Causes

Join us to raise a glass to our Living Wage Funder network and Living Wage Week as we reach a major milestone - our 50th Living Wage Funder.

With huge thanks to Jerwood Arts and Peopleโ€™s Health Trust we are delighted to be marking Living Wage Week and our 50th Living Wage Funder with this celebratory drinks reception.

As we share a drink and nibbles in the beautiful Jerwood Space, we will be announcing our surprise 49th and 50th Living Wage Funders โ€“ including one of the biggest in the UK โ€“ as well as hearing from our network, sharing insight into the impact and exploring next steps for the scheme.

Our now 50 strong network, with over ยฃ1bn funding power, ranges from local authorities to charitable trusts and foundations, corporate, science and capital funders, and are committed to tackle low pay by encouraging and enabling the organisations they support to pay the real Living Wage. Collectively they have enabled there now to be 1,754 accredited Living Wage Employers in the third sector, collectively uplifting 18,233 people to the real Living Wage.

However, there is still more work to do. One quarter of all charity sector workers earn less than the real Living Wage and there are sub-sectors where low pay is still the norm. What is next for our network and movement?

To celebrate our success and reflect on where we still have to go, we will hear from:

  • Our surprise 49th & 50th Living Wage Funders
  • John Hume - CEO, People's Health Trust
  • Lilli Geissendorfer - Director, Jerwood Arts
  • David Jamieson - West Midlands Police and & Crime Commissioner
  • Katherine Chapman - Director, Living Wage Foundation

Please do contact [email protected] with any questions and we look forward to seeing you there. Huge thanks to Jerwood Arts for making the event possible.
