An introduction to Teach First: Career Changers & Young Professionals Oct 19

Family & Education

Unlock the potential in children from the most disadvantaged backgrounds – and the potential in you. Train to become a teacher and leader. Get a salary from day one in the classroom, boost your career and make a difference to the pupils who need it most.

We are now open for applications to train to teach with us in summer 2020. This is the best time to apply as we have full location and subject availabilty. Applying early also enables more time to prepare for getting into teaching both pragmatically and for subject knowledge.

This event is aimed specifically at young professionals and career changers, who would like to explore Teach First and our programme. It will enable you to find out more about the charity, the structure and benefits of our route into teaching - all in an informal manner. You'll also be able to get your questions answered by a dedicated members of the recruitment team over light refreshments.

The Teach First Training Programme offers:

  • School-based and salaried programme:Β Earn a salary from your first day in September and throughout your training, including school holidays.
  • No fees to pay: fully-funded PGDE:Β Unlike some other routes, you pay no fees for your training and receive a salary.
  • Three points of professional support:Β Support from a subject expert, an in-school mentor and a Teach First mentor, plus the Teach First community.
  • Training twice-rated outstanding by Ofsted:Β 99% of our trainees get a grade 1 or 2 QTS ranking.

Please note there are eligibility criteria you will need to meet in order to gain a place on our programme. We strongly advise you check the teaching reuirements on our website before you sign up to attend this event.

If you're unable to make the event but would like to learn more - please reach out to Sam Graham [email protected]
