Please note: Artsmark Connects events are open to all teachers, including those not currently registered for Artsmark. Cultural sector organisations are also welcome to book.

Artsmark Connects

Join us at the London Bubble Theatre for an evening exploring the beneficial links between pupil wellbeing and the arts.

The theatre is a 10 minute walk from both Bermondsey Tube station and Canada Water Tube station (both Jubilee line) and a 4 minute walk from Rotherhite Train Station (Overground).

This informal networking event will offer teachers an opportunity to hear about research and try out activities related to Challenge 59 and the Speech Bubble initiative offered by London Bubble Theatre, the Artsmark Partner who are hosting the event.

  • Challenge 59 – this programme worked with primary school teachers to explore and tackle health and wellbeing through the use of dance and film in the classroom. Jo Rhodes will explain how they explored the physical, emotional and psychosocial impact of bringing more movement into the school curriculum through embodied learning. She will talk about how Challenge 59 can support teachers’ work on pupil wellbeing and contribute to a school’s Artsmark Journey.

  • Speech Bubble – this programme focuses on how our feelings affect how we communicate and vice versa. Adam Annand from London Bubble will discuss the research they have conducted about wellbeing benefits and how they can support schools as an Artsmark Partner. This will be followed by practical CPD that demonstrates ways to use drama to support children’s communication, confidence and wellbeing either in the classroom or in smaller group interventions.

The event will give teachers a chance to network with peers and discover more about pupil wellbeing and the arts.

Artsmark Connects events provide the following opportunities:

  • Presentations: hear from teachers and the cultural sector

  • CPD: an opportunity to try out offers from host Artsmark Partner organisations

  • Celebrate: congratulate those schools that have recently been awarded Artsmark

  • Discover: find out how Artsmark can help your school

  • Network: a chance for teachers and the cultural sector to network and share ideas and practice over a glass of wine (or two!)

Teachers, senior leaders, governors, and members of the cultural sector are welcome to attend. Places are limited, book now!
