We are privileged to have two vastly experienced corporate governance professionals speak at this event:

Guest speakers
Charmaine Chow, Legal and Governance Director, People’s Partnership

Charmaine is a qualified solicitor of England & Wales and a Fellow of the Chartered Governance Institute (FCG) with over 26 years’ experience. She also recently completed an Executive MBA.

She has predominantly worked in financial services: from listed companies with international presence to large private regulated companies. Charmaine was born and raised in Malaysia, where she trained and qualified as an advocate and solicitor.


Lisa Marvin, Head of Corporate Law and Governance, BNP Paribas

Lisa is the Head of Corporate Law and Governance for BNP Paribas in the UK. She has worked for BNP Paribas for the last 8 years and currently leads the Corporate and Investment Banking Division’s corporate activities and company secretariat. She also advises the non-CIB UK business divisions on corporate legal and governance matters.

Lisa is a FCG and has spent over 30 years’ working in global financial services, having held senior positions with HSBC, Morgan Stanley and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group. She has extensive expertise in advising on corporate projects and strategic governance within the UK’s financially regulated sector.

Lisa is of Chinese heritage, and although from Trinidad and Tobago, she was raised in the UK.

Moderator
Peter Ho, FRSA, FCG, FICA, Committee member of the Asian Corporate Governance Network, and formerly General Counsel & Company Secretary of Tyman plc.

He is a Fellow of the The Chartered Governance Institute (CGI), The Royal Society for Arts, Manufactures and Commerce, and the International Compliance Association. He has over 15 years of experience across listed companies in oil and gas, manufacturing, insurance and professional services. Peter was born and raised in Singapore, and trained and qualified as an FCG and a solicitor of England & Wales. In 2024, he was named "General Counsel of the Year" at The Lawyer Awards.
