Blockchain and its place in FinTech

How Blockchain works and how it will influence FinTech

We have partnered with FinTech Influencers to bring you an evening on Blockchain Need-to-Know on 4 December 2019.

The infrastructure for capital markets, particularly the back office, continues to be clumsy, slow and costly. The advent of blockchain technology promises to revolutionise the sector by lowering the overall cost, speeding up settlements and minimising the entry barrier.

During the evening, Stef Savanah, Chief Consultant at Van Haas will give a clear explanation of how blockchain works so the audience can assess first hand how it will impact finance generally and capital markets in particular.

Issues to be covered will include:

Ø What are the key aspects of the technology?

Ø What problem does blockchain actually solve?

Ø What is blockchain good for and, especially, what is blockchain NOT good for?

Ø Why are capital markets a good use case for blockchain?

Stef will cover the current state-of-play and the main challenges to be overcome and bring some understanding to how blockchain works and how Financial Services and FinTech firms can be ready for the paradigm shift in capital markets.

As usual, the discussion will be geared heavily to encourage audience participation, opinion and questions.

Be part of the conversation.

Agenda:

6.00 - 6.30 pm - Registration & drinks

6.30 - 7.30 pm - Stef will introduce the discussion points, take questions and start the conversation

7.30 - 8.30 pm - Beer, wine, pizza & networking

Space is limited - we ask that you let us know if you are unable to attend so that we can invite others.
