Performance by Ning Chou and Nurin Yusof
Taiwanese artist Ning Chou and Malaysian artist Nurin Yusof who are recent fine art graduates from Wimbledon College of Art and Central Saint Martins respectively, will be hosting ‘Casa:London’, a housewarming and housebuilding party cum performance at The Art Bypass Gallery, as part of Interact Week by Sweet ‘Art.
Through this collaborative, improvised and interactive performance, Ning Chou and Nurin Yusof invites the audience to join them in building and celebrating this new home as part of their exploration of a romance-less relationship and the experience of living together, questioning the intertwining foundations of all types and experiences of ‘home(s)’.
Through collective building, general and specific cultural associations of a ‘home’ will be considered alongside the artists’ current diasporic experience of living in United Kingdom.
The audience are also encouraged to bring a form of housewarming gift (e.g. rock, receipt, picture) to further extend the conversation of the ownership and reclamation of private spaces.
