Celebrate the Korean Language: '26, Your Korean Words' Special Event

Join us for the unveiling of our captivating new exhibition, '26, Your Korean Words', at the Korean Cultural Centre UK! This exhibition celebrates the 26 Korean words that were added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 2021.

'26, Your Korean Words' showcases twenty-six special Korean origin words that are widely used worldwide. It delves into the language's history through 'Hunminjeongeum' (the precursor to the Korean alphabet, 'Hangul') and 'Malmoe Manuscript' (the first Korean dictionary). As part of the exhibition, we invite you to contribute by writing your own definitions of these twenty-six words on specially crafted manuscript paper. Your definitions will join the display, completing the exhibition as if compiling a dictionary.

What To Expect:

• 6:40 PM ~ Welcome Reception
• 6:50 PM ~ Experience The Exhibition & Immersive Activies: Join our activities to win prizes in the exhibition and library area.

Activities include:

- 'My 26' Writing Activity: Explore your calligraphy abilities by writing some of the 26 words.

- Manhwa Corner

- Charades: Guess some of the 26 words based on demonstrations given by your teammates. The group with the most correctly guessed words wins a prize.

- Open Bar: Refreshments and snacks will be available at the throughout the evening.
