Celebrating 125 years at The National Bakery School

Uncategorized

An evening for reminiscing, touching on student creativity & innovation and revealing our plans for future successes...

As we continue to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of the National Bakery School, we'd like to invite you to join us for an evening of discovery!

We shall be looking at our history, our journey thus far and the exciting opportunities that lay ahead of us. Incorporated in our evening agenda, there will be guest speakers, exciting memorabilia and an opportunity to mingle with others over light refreshments - along with treats created by our students! Come and discover the hidden jewel within LSBU and learn more about its past present and future.

Our Speakers will include:

  • Our very own Professor Patrick Callaghan, Dean of School of Applied Sciences
  • Stanley Cauvain, Alumni, Director of BakeTran, author of numerous bakery publications and well respected Bakery expert
  • Sophie Braker, Alumni and Test Baker at Zeelandia.

Our event will actually take place in the National Bakery School which will give you a 'behind the scenes' experience of where our staff and students work to create delicious, intricate and often beautiful products! There will be live demos taking place, tours of the facilities and opportunities to meet our staff and students as well as internal and external colleagues. Refreshments will be provided.

For those of you unable to attend, we'll have an exclusive tour (for up to 15 people) taking place on the day at midday which will leave from K2 Reception.

We hope you can join us to celebrate this exciting landmark and to toast to the future of the National Bakery School at LSBU!
