The Eight Sisters Meet – celebrating Northeast India

The Women of NE India Support Network (WNESN) is a community-based women’s group in the UK.

The members of WNESN are women from the 8 North Eastern states of India, currently residing in the UK. We help and support each other in all aspects of life, at home, social or the work environment.

Our objectives also include promoting the diverse arts and culture of NE India to the wider International audience. In line with this objective, the members of our group have been busy in preparation for our forthcoming cultural show and exhibition. With great excitement, we are happy to announce the launch of our upcoming event.

A cultural evening filled with music, dance forms and glimpses of the enchanting cultural heritage and traditions of the people of the Northeast of India, a collection of 8 states colloquially known as the Eight Sisters.

An exhibition of arts, artefacts, handicrafts, jewellery and fashion along with other items which represent the unique culture of the region and its inhabitants will be on display for the following week.

The cultural evening and the exhibition will be showcased at the Nehru Centre, Mayfair W1K 1HF.

7th October 2022 – 18:00 hrs to 20.00 hrs Cultural evening

Our exhibition will be inaugurated on Monday 10th October at 18.00hrs and will carry on till Friday 14th October 17.00 hrs.
