CIBSE HCNW/CIBSE HCSW/HCNE Joint Event : Building Safety Act Quick Synopsis

Contrary to popular belief, the Building Safety Act is not only about high-rise residential buildings. These relate to building control activities and also apply to all regulated building work, not just higher risk buildings.

The new requirements are contained in the latest amendments to the Building Regulations. The new Part 2A covers duty holders and competence.

All these regulations came into force on 1 October 2023 and apply to ALL work undertaken that falls within the definition of β€œbuilding work” in regulation 3 of the building regulations. When working on lifts it will be important to know what is building work and what is work in an HRB.
