Defining the role of business in community
Overview of the event
This event brings together businesses and organisations in the Amazon network to present a new initiative starting in Hackney - the Civic Hub. Pioneered by Shoreditch Trust and The Social Innovation Partnership this will see the re-launch of 170 Pitfield Street as a Civic space that allows citizens to design new policies, access affordable and open Civic space and events and learning. This event will involve introductions, a world cafe session to explore CH further, a panel discussion and then a networking event to close.
Event purpose:
- To introduce the idea of the Civic Hub to the Amazon network of businesses and organisations.
- To develop thinking around the role of business in supporting community
- To bring in community voice in shaping businesses’ perceptions of what good corporate responsibility looks like
- To highlight and discuss the role of a Civic Hub in building united places – bridging sectors and community
