Connecting Science and Performance: Fuelling for Athletes

Science & Technology

An evening of lectures, Q&A session and reception addressing the importance of nutrition within sport.

Two guest speakers:

  • Dr Oliver Witard, Senior Lecturer in Exercise Metabolism and Nutrition at King's College London. Dr Witard is a member of the Centre for Human & Applied Physiological Sciences at King's College London and his main area of research is the importance of nutrition within sports, particularly the value of protein and its key role in building muscle. He recognised two sources of protein, plant and animal products and in contemporary research addressed which intake is preferable for gaining muscle mass.

Their combined academic and sporting experience will provide an in-depth understanding of particular research areas including fuelling as an athlete. A question and answer session will allow attendees to pursue topics of further interest and exploration.
