Curator's Tour with Manifesting Entities

HOXTON 253 invites you to join curator, writer and researcher Linda Rocco, co-curator of our current exhibition Witches, Scamps and Things, a solo presentation by artist Kelly Sweeney, as she shares critical insight into the artist’s phantasmagoric world. Rocco will examine Sweeney’s otherworldly pantheon that inhabit space through sculptural, painterly and filmic form, exploring the evolving relationship between disciplinary development and artistic concerns. This will be an informal tour where questions are invited and an open dialogue encouraged.

As part of this event, we are excited to be hosting the first physical manifestation of the artist’s supernatural entities. Seduced by all things transcendental, this is for Sweeney the realm of schizophrenic psychic harlequins, ethereal goddesses with a penchant for partying, orchid-clown hybrids and demonic balls.

Guests will be greeted on arrival with a cocktail created especially for the show. Everyone is welcome.
