Do Something Amazing, for Someone Amazing - Nominate!

Business & Professional

The Honours System is more representative than ever before, but there is still more to do to make sure it truly reflects UK society. Women and people from an ethnic minority background are under-represented on successive honours lists due to a lack of nominations.Β

The Cabinet Office's Honours and Appointments Secretariat and NBWN have come together to demystify the process and bring you an insight into how the Honours System operates. As well as giving you history of the System and outlining the process, you will receive top tips on how to nominate that person in your family, community or organisation who is deserving of recognition.Β

In addition, we will hold a panel discussion with inspiring honours recipients to find out how receiving an honour has impacted them and why it's worth putting in that nomination form. Our panelists include: -

Sonia Brown MBE, NBWN

Mark Martin MBE, Urban TeacherΒ

Dame Louise Casey

Only around 2,000 people are awarded an honour every year.Β The Honours System is our society’s way of recognising that person in our community who goes above and beyond, of celebrating outstanding achievement and saying thank you to those who make an exceptional contribution. Come along to find out how to nominate that incredible person in your life so they can be celebrated on the bi-annual Honours List.Β

In addition, there will be plenty of opportunities for powerful networking, sharing and connecting amongst your peers.

Format for the night:

6pm: Arrival and welcome drinks
6:45pm: Introduction from Head of Honours Secretariat
6:55pm: Honours history, process and top tips on nominating.
7.20pm: Panel discussion
7.45pm: Q&AΒ Β

8:00pm - 8:45pm: Networking and drinks
