“O rose, cut in rock” brings together works by five exciting, emerging, female artists from across the UK. Ranging from painting to sculpture, these works are inspired by the home, for the home. Join us on the 12th of October to celebrate the opening night of our pop-up gallery (which will run between October 13th - October 31st, 2023). The event will be held at Shipton Street Gallery on Shipton Street (E2 7RZ), a rotating art space just off of Columbia Rd. The evening will include drinks, community, and plenty of joie de vivre.
Come view works by Sophie Harding, Carol Douglas, Polly Bennett, Vivien Thomason and Melanie Twigger.
For dwellers and dreamers, we aim to bring you a selection of art to fall in love with and to live with. Like H.D.’s rose in her poem ‘The Garden’, we honour the home as a site and source of strength, resistance, contemplation, reflection, dreaming and memory.
