Come and hear our expert panel discuss changes in what is seen as scandalous and shameful, today and in the past.
Bringing together a range of disciplinary perspectives, our speakers will help us make sense of these issues, speaking on topics as diverse as troll politics, shame and womenโs bodies in modern Britain, women art criminals, and the need for exposure journalism in contemporary society.
Hear from the following speakers:
Chair:
Suzanne Franks, Professor of Journalism at City University and former broadcaster at the BBC
Speakers:
David Leigh, Anthony Sampson Professor in Reporting at City University and former journalist for The Guardian, The Observer and The Times
David Nash, Professor of History at Oxford Brookes University
William Merrin, Associate Professor of Media Studies at Swansea University
Penelope Jackson, art historian and curator based in New Zealand (video essay)
There will be a drinks reception and audience questions will be invited at the end of the panel.
