Induction and welcome event for Birkbeck Postgraduate Research Students

Induction and welcome for new MPhil/PhD students New Postgraduate Research Students are invited to attend this induction and welcome session organised by the Birkbeck Graduate Research School (BGRS). You will hear a series of brief introductions highlighting essential information, support and resources available to you through the BGRS and other Birkbeck departments. Timetable 18.00 - 19.00 A welcome from Professor Julian Swann, Director of the BGRS and Pro-Vice Master Research Brief introductions about The Graduate Research School Library Research Support Good conduct in postgraduate research Research Centres and Institutes at Birkbeck Wellbeing services Birkbeck Futures (Careers and Employability resources) 19.00 - 20.30 Drinks reception After the Induction, the session will continue with a drinks reception, where you will be able to meet new and returning PhD students. You don't need to register separately for the reception but if you don't plan to stay on for this part of the event please do let us know.  Who is this event for? This event is for all new Postgraduate Research students (doctoral and MRes students) including: Those enroling at the start of the Autumn Term  those who began during the Summer term 2019 Related events If you can't attend this induction event we are offering an alternative session 10.00am - 12.30pm on Wednesday 16 October which you are invited to attend instead.
