Trinity is returning to London this February with our hugely popular “Innovation @ Trinity” showcase.

Date: Thursday 20th February 2020

Venue: Painters' Hall, 9 Little Trinity Lane, London EC4V 2AD

Time: Doors open 6.30pm for 7pm start, with networking reception to follow

Trinity is returning to London this February with our hugely popular “Innovation @ Trinity” showcase. Alumni will have the opportunity to connect and network with each other, to meet the leaders driving some of Trinity’s exciting start-ups and to discover how world-class innovation & entrepreneurship sit at the heart of our university.

Attendees will hear from the inspiring leaders behind two of Trinity’s successful campus companies, their entrepreneurial journey and how Trinity helped them grow from research concept to innovative impact. The discussion panel with these leaders and investors will be followed by a networking and drinks reception.

Speakers include:

Helen McBreen of Atlantic Bridge – "Creating globally successful companies"

David van Zuydam of Head Diagnostics – "Concussion diagnosis in 10 seconds"

Colm McGarvey of Selio Medical – "Reforming lung cancer diagnosis"

Helen McBreen, Atlantic Bridge

"Creating globally successful companies"

Helen joined Atlantic Bridge in 2015 as an Investment Director for their University Bridge Fund, which is focused on investing in early stage companies with global potential that are built from world class research generated at all Irish third-level institutions and universities. Having successfully sourced, formed and financed dozens of IP rich technology ventures and with a credible investment track record Helen brings over 12 years’ experience in early stage investing.

David van Zuydam, Head Diagnostics

"Concussion Diagnosis in 10 seconds"

David has a vast amount of experience across a number of senior roles ranging from technology, supply chain to manufacturing and retail. Previously CFO of Simulity where he successfully completed funding rounds and finally an exit in 2017. As well as senior financial management positions in Microsoft and Accenture, David has worked for Flextronics, Philips Electronics and Le Creuset. David is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant (ACMA).

Colm McGarvey, Selio Medical

"Reforming lung cancer diagnosis"

Colm is an ambitious, dynamic and visionary professional with over 22 years commercial experience, national and international, within the medical device, pharmacy and retail sectors. He holds an honours degree in Pharmacy from Queens University Belfast and a MSc in Bio-Inovation from University College Cork. As Corporate Development Director of Unicare Pharmacy, Colm built up the largest retail pharmacy chain and network of primary care centres in Ireland through M&A and new business start-ups. He has managed the investment of over €100m in healthcare assets in Ireland.
