Inspiring Academics: Supervision

Business & Professional

Hello Insitute of Education students,

We are continuing our series of seminars entitled 'Inspiring Academics' within the Institute of Education for 2020.

These Seminars are designed to give practical advise to research students who may be considering a career in academia. The presenters are post-doctoral students, early career researchers, lecturers, senior lecturers and professors from our very own faculty.

The first talk for this year will be hosted by Dr Maria Kambouri and her colleagues Dr Standen, Dr Beeke and Professor McGettigan on Supervision:

'Supervision Tales

In this session I have invited 3 colleagues from other departments of UCL to form a panel and we will present our journeys and experiences of supervision from both sides. We will welcome participants sharing their views of what good supervision may be.

Dr Maria Kambouri (DGT in PHD)

Dr Suzanne Beeke (lead for SLT doctoral recruitment & interviewing)

Prof Carolyn McGettigan (Chair in Speech and Hearing Sciences)

And Dr Alex Standen (UCL Arena Centre)'

Drinks and nibbles will be provided during the talk, so please come and enjoy together.

We would also like to welcome master students or undergraduates who are interested in this talk to join us. However, we need to stress that they need to sign up through this event and carry a valid UCL ID.

Do not miss out!
