Building and maintaining a network of good connections can be key for shrewd investors and those seeking funding to grow their business.

Our Abel + Imray Investors + Innovators Meet Up series bring people together to start creating those connections through networking over informal drinks. Each event has an innovation theme to provide a focus to attract relevant investors and innovating businesses to be 'in the room'.

The meet up is free to attend though places are limited, and places are restricted to 2 per organisation.

Innovating businesses who are or will be seeking funding. We think these events will be most beneficial for those looking for investment from pre-seed through to series B.

Guest speaker bios

Renos Savva

Renos Savva is the Head of Innovation at Discovery Park in Sandwich, Kent. An academic and biotech entrepreneur, his interest is in essential skills provision and diversity in life sciences startup and investment.

Working in the Business Development Team, Renos is fostering closer links between the local HEIs, early career researcher entrepreneurs via doctoral training programmes and Discovery Park programmes in collaboration with Barclays Eagle Labs to help develop the startup and small business ecosystem operating at the site with links to the local region, London stakeholders, and the NHS.

Renos will provide information about the Discovery Spark self-audit programme for founders of growth startups and how investors can get involved.


Emma Palmer Foster

As EJ Palmer Consulting, Emma Palmer Foster works with pharma and biotech companies/organisations on strategy, investor relations and communications.

Emma has 30 years of experience in the European healthcare sector, via roles in investment banking, VC, financial communications and investor relations, journalism and technology transfer.

She has worked with a wide range of pharma, biotech and medtech firms on IPOs, M&A transactions, public and private fundraisings.

Emma has an MA in Biochemistry from the University of Oxford and an MBA from Durham University Business School. She chairs a UK NIHR Invention for Innovation (i4i) Product Development Award Panel and is a Director of Discovery Park Ventures.


Biotech and MedTech

Biotech and MedTech businesses continue to attract investment and are actively driving innovation in the UK. At Abel + Imray we see an appetite from companies in these tech areas for protecting their intellectual property in preparation for their products or services reaching the commercial market.
