Launch Event: Forgotten Victims: The Nazi Genocide of the Roma Sinti
The Wiener Holocaust Library is pleased to announce our next exhibition, Forgotten Victims: The Nazi Genocide of the Roma and Sinti, which will open on 30 October 2019 and run until 11 March 2020.
Please join us on Wednesday 30 October at 6.30pm - 8pm for the launch of our new exhibition, there will be a reception with reflections from Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg and other speakers.
The genocide carried out against the Roma and Sinti communities of Europe by the Nazis and their collaborators during the Second World War – the persecution and murder of as many as 500,000 people – has been referred to as the ‘forgotten Holocaust’. This exhibition draws upon the Library's collections to uncover the story of this little known aspect of Nazi persecution.
