LGBT+ Careers Networking

Business & Professional

A fantastic opportunity for university students to meet with LGBT+ professionals from a range of inclusive employers.

Hosted by the Careers Service at Imperial College London this unique event provides a fantastic opportunity for university students who identify as LGBT+ to meet with LGBT+ professionals from a range of inclusive employers. The event aims to facilitate career discussions and share perspectives on the workplace to demonstrate that it’s possible to be comfortable and successful at work while being yourself.

Refreshments served from 6PM.

Presentations commence at 6:20PM.

Following the opening presentations there'll be an opportunity to network with a range of LGBT+ employees from various organisations who cover a range of roles from finance and technical positions to project management and marketing roles.

LGBT+ employees will be attending from organisations including: Accenture, Amadeus IT Services UK Ltd, Appian Europe Ltd, Bloomberg, Boston Consulting Group, Capco, Commerzbank, Cundall, Deloitte, Fidelity International, Imperial College London, Macquarie Group, MediaCom, Newton and Splunk.

Before the event: you may want to read about the organisations and we'd recommend you watch this short video for a few tips on how to make the most of the event.

Directions: If you're not sure how to get to us then directions to our campus can be found here and a campus map can be found here. The event will be held in the Royal School of Mines and we'll email registered attendees detailed directions to the venue as it can be a little hard to find and we'll have volunteers from the Imperial College LGBT+ student society (IQ) to help you find us and meet with other students.

FAQs

Why do I need to register?

  • The venue has limited capacity and the event is catered with food and drink. Registration helps us plan and make appropriate arrangements for the evening.

Why must I use my university email address to book a ticket?

  • The event is for university students so the use of a university email address is one way we can check your student status. If you're an alumni of your university you can use a corresponding alumni email account offered by your university or email us on [email protected].

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

  • You will need proof of registration and we'll accept either printed or digital tickets.

Do I need to prepare anything for the event?

  • Basically no but you may want to check out this 2 minute video to help you make the most of this event and other networking opportunities; it'll give you some ideas of questions you may want to ask.

Is there a dress code?

  • No, but do consider you're meeting a potential future employer/colleague so you may want to make a good impression - shorts, tee-shirt and flip-flops probably aren't a wise choice for that (plus it's February so you'll be cold!!)

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

How is my data processed?

  • Your privacy is important to us. Please note that your registration information will be held by Eventbrite under their Terms of Service and this information will be shared with Imperial College London (the event organiser) for event administration purposes in accordance with our Privacy Notice for Imperial College Events.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
