Join us at Iconic Images Gallery Chelsea on Thursday 26th June at 7pm for an evening dedicated to one of the most distinctive voices and faces of the 1960s: Marianne Faithfull.
In conversation with singer and writer Anna Bea, cultural historian and author Amirreza Tayebi will explore the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of Faithfull β a trailblazing artist whose personal and creative journey charts the highs and lows of fame, feminism, addiction, and survival.
The talk will take inspiration from Tayebiβs acclaimed book A Very British Revolution, which examines the impact of the Swinging Sixties as a kaleidoscopic era of rebellion, reinvention and youth culture. Faithfull, both muse and maker, stood at the heart of this movement β an icon of its sound, style and subversion.
The evening forms part of our ongoing exhibition A View from the Bridge: A Photographic Celebration of Greater Kensington and Chelsea, which includes portraits of Marianne Faithfull by Gered Mankowitz, taken during her meteoric rise.
Date: Thursday 26th June
Time: 7:00 pm (doors at 6:30 pm)
Location: Iconic Images Gallery Chelsea, 402 Kingβs Road, London SW10
Part of the exhibition: A View from the Bridge (12 June β 2 August)
