Join us on Tuesday 23 August 6.30pm at Martinez for an In Conversation with London-based artist Bokani and Eduardo da Costa, curator and founder of Bucking The Trend. The discussion will center around Bokani 's work shared here as part of the artist’s summer collaboration with Martinez.
Bokani is a multi-disciplinary artist making works that address climate justice and integral ecology. Chiefly concerned with our complicity, her works elicit a new response to nature and the patterns of our inter-connectivity.
She works across different mediums, painting, sculpture, billboards, computational art and installations. Her work has been exhibited across the UK and in Paris.
Eduardo da Costa is a curator, advisor and host of the Bucking the Trend podcast.This series of interviews, with the Bipoc directors of London institutions regarding their careers. A conversational podcast; bucking the trend aims to mark this extraordinary moment in London's visual art world, where despite the statistics at the bottom and middle of the art world are stark and show a net underrepresentation of Bipoc individuals.
