'Medical Cannabis: All Smoke, No Fire?' by Rayyan Zafar (MRC PhD Fellow)

Health & Wellness

SSDP Imperial are proud to announce our inaugural in-person guest speaker event, presented by Rayyan Zafar, on Monday 6th December.

Zafar is a Medical Research Council PhD student studying at Imperial College London in the Centre for Psychedelic Research under the supervision of Professor David Nutt. His PhD focuses on the application of multi-modal neuroimaging to understand addictions such as gambling and alcoholism. He has a keen interest in psychopharmacology and particularly how addictions could be treated with psychedelics. Additionally, Rayyan’s current research with Drug Science focuses on medical cannabis to treat epilepsy, together with Dr Anne Schlag and Prof David Nutt.

This is an incredible opportunity to learn more about innovative research and have an honest discussion about the challenges involved in drug education and policy rooted in science. Also, this will be an opportunity to network with other interested individuals!

We are excited to see you all there!

When? 6-7:30pm on Monday 6th December 2021

Where? South Kensington Campus, EEE Building, Lecture Theatre 408 (4th floor)
